John Travolta and Nicolas Cage were considered to work with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone in this film. Ironically 15 years ago, Travolta and Cage took the roles of Sean Archer and Castor Troy in Face/off which was made and written for Stallone and Schwarzenegger.
As the plane crashes into the mine, people and equipment are thrown to the back as well as debris from the tail. Actually, as the plane is reducing speed during the crash, unsecured people and equipment should have been thrown towards the cockpit. Only pieces that hit the mine's surfaces should be left behind.
When the group finds the crashed airplane there are two wolves eating dead passengers. They scare the wolves away, but then there is the distinctive sound of coyotes howling, not wolves.

The villains in this movie are Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and his right hand man Hector (Scott Adkins).
