The World Premiere of the hit Allied Artists production, The George Raft Story happened at Chicago on Wednesday, November 22, 1961, at the United Artists theatre, Randolph at Dearborn. An ad reads: Extra! In Person! Opening Day Only---A Raft of Excitement, Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay Appearing on stage with Chicago's Star Columnists 11:30 a.m. with Tony Weitzel, 6:00 p.m. with Kup (Irv Kupcinet) and 8:15 p.m. with Maggie Daly. The ad further stated: "The Frankest Story a Movie Star Ever Told About Hollywood"!
