Ross Parker, who is credited with writing the screenplay for the second, third, and fourth movies, also wrote the screenplay for The Good Witch's Charm. It was followed by The Good Witch's Destiny (2013), and The Good Witch's Wonder (2014).

ACassandra 'Cassie' Nightingale (Catherine Bell) and husband Jake Russel's (Chris Potter) family vacation to Court's Lake Resort is canceled when grandfather George O'Hanrahan's (Peter MacNeill) best friend dies, son Brandon (Matthew Knight) is unable to make it back from school during midterms, a rash of thefts puzzles the merchants of Middleton, a promotional film that shows Cassie disappearing into thin air goes viral, and a surprise visit from her foster mother Doris Becker (Janet-Laine Green), brings back memories. Between the crime wave, family problems, and suspicions about her being a witch, Cassie considers resigning as mayor.
ADeputy Derek Sanders (Noah Cappe) figures out that Cassie's mysterious disappearance on film was simply due to a large mirror being carried by two movers into Peretti's shop. As he tries to explain it to Henry (Geordie Johnson), Lori and Katie (Genevieve Kang) walk into Jake's office. Katie remorsefully admits that it was she and Justin (Greg Calderone) who planted the stolen items in Lori's room, but Justin is nowhere to be found. Cassie locates him in her store and, after talking with him, convinces him to turn himself in, too. Now that everything is out in the open, Henry apologizes to Cassie for running with his story before he had all the facts. Later, Doris goes to the hotel to speak to Henry but finds that he has checked out. As she is driving home, she is forced to stop when the scarab pin given to her by Cassie becomes tangled in her seat belt, and she notices Henry skipping stones in a pond. Henry apologizes to her, too, and admits that he has feeling for her. Martha Tinsdale (Catherine Disher) decides to use her influence to re-energize the Chamber of Commerce as a benefit to the Middleton business community. George finally manages to fix Cassie's car and gets around to asking Gwen (Elizabeth Lennie) to marry him. Now that everything has 'magically' worked itself out, Jake announces that he's booked a family camping trip to Langford Falls. In the final scene, Cassie puts baby Grace to bed. She and Jake watch the crystal dragonflies on the crib mobile begin to spin, 'Magical,' Jake says. 'Like mother, like daughter,' Cassie replies.
