Trivia
When Alec Baldwin's character tells 'Tony Shaloub''s character that they are considering replacing the burro with a Bald Eagle he exclaims "What is this, a Disney Picture?!?" The movie was produced by Touchstone Pictures and distributed by Buena Vista Pictures, both of which are part of the Disney Corporation.

In the "burro casting" sequence neither of the animals being considered are burros. They are both mules - the sterile offspring of a burro (donkey) and a horse.

This movie was based on the real life FBI sting operation in the 1980s to infiltrate the Boston mob teamsters. An FBI agent went undercover as a movie studio executive and contracted George Moffly, an aspiring filmmaker, to create it. Throughout the whole time George had no idea that he was making a fake movie. The sting only captured a few minor Mob members. The details of this unusual story can be found in a GQ article (March 2000).

Goofs
Though the film is set in 1985, the United Airlines plane shown at the Rhode Island airport is painted in a color scheme that was not used until the mid-1990s.

The same extras playing tourists, wearing the same clothes (notably a woman with a fringed leather jacket), can be seen watching the "Ponderosa" theme park show, in two different scenes supposedly months apart.

When Agent Divine is watching the dog in the kennel in Hollywood you can see a red chewing toy next to the dog. In the next shot of the dog the toy is gone.

Quotes
Valerie Weston: I'm gonna go home, Steven. That's right. I'm serious. Because of you, I'm gonna get gangbanged, Steven. Gangbanged in Woodland Hills.

Tommy Sanz: It's my face, Willie. The guys back home can't stand to look at me. I thought after the second surgery things would change.

Hollywood Boulevard Type: Here's the kicker. It's an election day. And he can't vote because he's got no head.
