AWhen Orlunga learns that Robert has been nursing Ol' Kalu at the compound, he kills Kihero and runs into the bush to find a lion to kill to win back the tribe's favor. Angry that Kihero has been killed, Tina goes after King and finds him at the same time as Orlunga. Tina orders King to kill Orlunda, and King leaps on him. Robert, Bullit, and Christine catch up to find King mauling Orlunga and Tina urging him on. Bullit fires one shot into King, killing him immediately. With tears falling down her cheeks, Tina beats her fists against Bullit's chest, screaming, 'You killed him!' Robert pulls Tina off away from Bullit. With a look of contempt at Bullit, she turns to her mother, and they go home together. Bullit puts in a call to Nairobi to resign his position at the game preserve and to arrange for a plane to be sent from Kenya to take Robert, Christine, and Tina to Nairobi from whence they will return to the U.S. The next morning, the plane arrives, and Robert, Christine, and Tina get on board. As the plane reaches altitude, Tina hears a squealing in the back of the plane. She pulls aside a curtain to see that Bullit has sent along her deer and her monkey. Although it's too far away to be seen, Tina waves goodbye to Bullit. In the final scene, Bullit gets into his jeep, waves goodbye to the employees at the compound, and heads off into his new life.
