Trivia
The title does not appear at the beginning of this film. The title finally is given at the end of the picture, after the headlining credits but before main credits roll. Now common, in 2001 leaving the title off the start of a film was a relatively rare innovation.

In Evey's first vision, which shows the bracelet being locked up, it is evident that she sees herself but as Nefertiri. She is wearing the same clothes and ornaments, the night Pharoah is killed by Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namun.

Goofs
When first donned, the bracelet shows a vision of the Giza Plateau in its modern state. It then shows Karnak in its ancient state rather than modern.

Q
Is 'The Mummy Returns' based on a book?
A
No. The Mummy Returns is the second movie in The Mummy series, preceded by The Mummy (1999) and followed by The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008). A novelization, also titled The Mummy Returns, written by American writer Max Allan Collins, was released concurrently with the movie.
Q
What is 'The Mummy Returns' about?
A
When London Egyptologists Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn 'Evy' (Rachel Weisz) O'Connell's eight-year-old son Alex (Freddie Boath) tries on the golden Bracelet of Anubis, the Egyptian God of the Underworld, he unwittingly sets into motion a series of events that will raise the Scorpion King (Dwayne Johnson), a 5,000 year old warrior who has the power to control the jackal-headed Army of Anubis. In the meantime, an Egyptian cult has reawakened the 3000-year old mummified body of high priest Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), who is searching for his beloved Anck Su Namun (Patricia Velasquez) and believes that he can use the Army of Anubis to find her and to conquer the world. As if that's not problems enough, Alex has only seven days to travel to the oasis of Ahm Shere in Egypt before the rays of the sun kill him.
