Kristy McNichol was the original choice made by director Herbert Ross to play the lead actress role. She was pulled two weeks before filming though by the film's producers, who feared she might be "difficult" to work with, due to her then-ongoing bouts with manic-depression.
When Christy comes to work after she and Brantley/Carlton spent the night together, Prescott comes to her office and then she meets him for breakfast. Prescott is wearing a dark suit and red tie. Later, after Brantley meets Christy, and then gets away from Rattigan, Brantley goes to his office to discover Prescott going through Carlton's papers. Prescott is now wearing a light gray suit and a blue tie. He is wearing the light suit in the next scene when he walks in on Brantley and Vera in his (Prescott's) office.
When Prescott and his executives stop for a moment to check their pulse while running on the roof, one of them starts to look at his watch.. but it's not there. So he looks over the shoulder of another, and then suddenly the watch appears.
Just following the first kiss scene between Brantley and Christy on the Staten Island Ferry, an aerial shot of the ferry passing under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is shown. The Staten Island Ferry doesn't pass under the Verrazano, or any other bridge in NYC.
