Goofs
Bullets fired from an AK-47 would not shatter the canopy on a Harrier jet. This was known by the filmmakers, but the shattered canopy was included to avoid having to worry about reflections on the canopy glass.

In the scene where the truck is teetering on the edge of the bridge the pelican that "lands" on the dash is wet while the pelican that flys away is dry.

After Harry heads into the mall followed by the two terrorists, Gib tells Harry the third guy is still in the car. When Gib calls Helen, you can see the terrorists' car in the background. Before the bus pulls in to obstruct Gib's view of their car, you can clearly see the car is empty. Where did the third guy go if Gib was keeping an eye on him?

Simon: Okay, just ask yourself: What do women really want? You take these bored housewives, married to the same guy for years, they're stuck in a rut, then need some release! Promise of adventure, a hint of danger. I create that for them.

Q
Why is the film called True Lies?
A
Characters that lie to each other - Harry lies to Helen about him being a computer salesman, when he is really a secret agent. Simon the car salemsan lies to Helen about him being a secret agent himself, so he can manipulate Helen into having sex with him. Helen lies to Harry about leaving the office to meet with Simon at the Chinese resturant, which she told Harry that she was having a problem with a photo copier that had broken down and about her car breaking down, when Harry and Gib abducted and interrogated Helen, after catching Helen and Simon together and Gibs lied to his Ex wife who didn't know he was a secret agent.
Q
Is True Lies a remake of another film?
A
Yes, it is a remake of a 1991 French film called La Totale! about a secret agent whose wife thinks he's a telecommunications employee. Arnold Schwarzenegger had seen the film and told James Cameron about it and they decided to do a remake, which became True Lies, thinking it would make a good movie.
Q
Why is Simon making Helen think he is a secret agent when really he is a car salesman?
A
Simon is providing Helen with excitement and danger by creating a roleplay scenario, where he is a secret agent who needs Helen's help and he is using this secret agent roleplay, so he can manipulate Helen into having sex with him and confesses to Harry and Gib that he lies to women so he can seduce them and he is really a coward and a loser and wets himself when someone aims a gun at him.
