The line Joe Mantegna uses when he first meets Tally - "Your voice is full of money" - is from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, "The Great Gatsby". In the film The Great Gatsby (1974), Robert Redford plays the title role.
Michelle Pfeiffer turned down the chance to star in a (never produced) adventure film about female pirates - "Mistress of the Sea" - in order to star in this film. At the time, Pfeiffer had just given birth to her son and did not want to travel overseas.
After the party where Tally finds out Warren is dead, Tally and Warren's ex-wife are at the airport where the casket is brought (they're both in dark colored tailored suits). Right after that, we see a scene with Tally and Ned, where they are wearing the same clothes that they were wearing at the party, while Tally sits at a desk in her apartment.
Tally is supposedly in the prison with one camera, yet shots beamed live from her include shots of her camera crew holding a camera. In addition we see cutting of shots between Tally and Fernando as if there were two cameras there.
