Trivia
Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix were both so nervous about having to sing that it caused tension in their relationship off screen. Both actors admitted in interviews that they didn't get along and constantly argued during the six months of singing lessons prior to filming. It wasn't until filming started that they connected and became friends.

Goofs
Before Johnny passes out on stage from overdosing, if you look closely, his mouth never moves when he says "I'm O.K."; he simply waves his hand.

When Johnny is hanging pictures, he begins to put a nail in the wall just above a line in the wood. In the very next shot, he bangs a nail several inches higher.

While riding in the tour caravan, Johnny, June, and Jerry Lee hear an ad on the radio for a 1957 Chevrolet. At the next gig, banners in the auditorium read "Class of 1955".

Record Company Executive: Your fans are church folk, Johnny. Christians. They don't wanna hear you singing to a bunch of murderers and rapists, tryin' to cheer 'em up.

Johnny Cash: See, June, they want to see us together.

Young Jack Cash: [dying] Do you hear 'em JR? Do you hear them angels?

Q
What are the differences between the theatrical version and the Extended Cut of Walk the Line?
A
About two years after its first home DVD release, Fox Home Entertainment published an Exended Cut of Walk the Line that runs more than 15 minutes longer. Most of the new scenes can be found on the old DVD as deleted scenes but there are also some really new scenes but of course it's questionable whether this new Extended Cut is worth a double-dip. Maybe this detailed comaprison with pictures can help you with the decision. You can find it here.
