The "I respect you" strap match between "The Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman and "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan was Pillman's last match in WCW and was designed as an inside-joke for "smart fans." The "match" lasted about 33 seconds at which point Pillman said over the microphone "I respect you, bookerman!" and walked away laughing. The whole thing was planned out ahead of time by Pillman and Sullivan, who was the booker (head decision maker) for WCW at the time. However, they did not let anyone else in WCW, including the office, know what they were doing. They were going for realism, which ended up backfiring after Pillman did a "worked-shoot" (not actually real but acting like it was) promo where he asked for his release from WCW and received it before Sullivan realized the office wasn't in on the joke.
