Trivia
One of the most famous movie quotations that 'Robert de Niro' is famous for, and perhaps the most of all, was his "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me?" repetitive line of dialogue by his Travis Bickle character in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976). Similarly, at one point in We're No Angels (1989), Demi Moore repeatedly says to de Niro, "Are you gonna give me those things? Are you gonna give me those things?".

Writer-director David Mamet wrote the screenplay but did not direct this picture, it being directed by Neil Jordan. By the time that this feature film started lensing, Mamet had directed two cinema movies, Things Change (1988) and House of Games (1987).

Jim: [as Father Brown, he is asked to give a speech to the town. He reads from a brochure stuck in his Bible that says "An Encounter with a Bear"] Have you ever felt completely alone? Alone in a world of danger, and no one to rely on? Danger on every hand, in a world fraught with danger? And at the brink of death I felt in my pocket, and what did I find? What did I find?
