Trivia
The referees that Ken Shamrock took out after his match were not real referees, but rather, local independent wrestlers in referee outfits. After SummerSlam 1997 (in which Shamrock did the same thing), it was decided not to put the real referees in danger like that again.

The D-X Band's screeching renditions of "America the Beautiful" and the American National Anthem were met with a resounding chorus of boos from the crowd in attendance, and the performances were considered disrespectful by fans and even the national media. Lead singer Chris Warren later admitted that he was instructed to perform the songs that way by the WWE, as a means to generate further heat for the D-Generation X stable.
