The song " E Mere Watan" sung by Nitin Mukesh and Mohammed Aziz that played in the film, was recorded for the film Kasak. Feroz Khan was planning to direct that film after Jaanbaz. The songs of Kasak were already recorded so Feroz used the song for Yalgaar.The song was not released in the movies audio cassettes and CD's.

Music director Channi Singh of the Bhangra band Alaap recreated one of his songs for Yalgaar. In the 1991 released album Extra Hot 4 -Remixes by Alaap and Pete Ware there is a song titled Naach Mundiya. Channi recreated the first 2 minutes of the song for the song Yalgaar's "Koi Pichle Janam". The music is very similar.

Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan all rejected the role eventually played by Vicky Arora.Feroz Khans assistant went to Shah Rukh Khan to sign the film. When Shah Rukh asked for a narration of the film from Feroz Khan himself, the assistant director walked off.
