This is the first time lead actor, Ajith kumar, is working with the director(Gowtham Vasudev Menon) of Vinnaithandi varuvaya.

The entire story is written and directed by Gautham Menon who directed Kaka and Vetaiyadu Velaiyadu (both crime thriller films ). Co-writers Sridhar Ragavan , Thiyagaraja Kumararaja . Apart from the director other two have won One National award (Indian Oscar) for screenplay Kahkee and One National Award for best First film director Aaranya Kandam (first neo-noir tamil gangster film ) respectively.
