The song "Te Levar" by Charlie Brown Jr. was used as the title song from 1999 to 2006. It was featured once again in the day of lead singer Chorão's death as a homage to him.
Since 1995, even though the original setting (the title gym, then a high school campus, and others) have changed over the course of the years, the title of "Malhação" ("fitness") remains to this day.
The series originally had mostly young adults playing underage characters. After 2012, the series featured a much younger cast following SBT's hit series Carrossel (2012) and Chiquititas (2014).
