Ewan McGregor well-known for his famous role in the Star Wars prequels is the latest to join the Disney line-up of stars like Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens who are gathered together in the upcoming live-action version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. McGregor is in his final negotiations with the production and will play the character Lumiere. It is one of the major supporting characters of the story. A charming and suave French maître d’ who is turned by magic into candelabra as a result of a curse which befall the prince’s castle is the character. The character also has a solo in the “Be Our Guest” showstopper and also appears in other musical numbers. Bill Condo is the director of the movie which will start in May in London. Ewan McGregor has also sung for the musical movie Moulin Rouge by Baz Luhrmann in 2001. He will also be seen starring opposite Natalie Portman in Jane Got a Gun later this year.
