Sir Ian McKellen is all praises for the party’s commitment towards LGBT rights and reformation of the system for gay asylum after the manifesto was launched in Brighton on Tuesday. The promises are for the reformation of laws dealing with hate crimes, appointment of LGBT rights envoy and so on. McKellen said that he was impressed with the manifesto and the party’s aims and commitments. The Oscar nominated actor is one of the highest profile actors to lend his support for Ed Miliband belonging to the Labor party. He is particularly happy about the appointment of Michael Cashman as an international LGBT Rights Envoy. Cashman is a longtime friend of Ian McKellen and a co-founder of LGBT rights charity. McKellen also said that such initiatives cost less but make the world a safer and better place for all.
