QDo we see Freddy Krueger before he haunted people's dreams?
AYes, there are flashbacks that show the pre-burnt Freddy. In this new film, Freddy is supposed to be a friendly preschool gardner who lives at the school and secretly molests the children in the basement of the school. There is also a dream sequence where Freddy shows one of the characters how he was burnt.
QIs this film a remake, re-imagining, sequel, or prequel to the original film?
AA Nightmare on Elm Street is a re-imagining loosely based on the 1984 horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, retaining the core concept and premise but taking place in its own separate continuity. Due to the term "remake" gaining a certain stigma in the eyes of some film-goers, producers have been reluctant to directly label the film as such. Before being greenlit, plans were considered for a prequel to the original film, as well as a sequel to Freddy vs. Jason, but both projects fell through in favor of the current reboot.
