The dancing club that Jude and his girlfriend Molly went to is based on the Cavern Club where the Beatles played in the 60s. You can even see 4 band members dressed in leather, based on the Beatles' outfits back in the late 50s.

Q
Was Prudence a lesbian?
A
Perhaps. This is essentially proven during "I Want To Hold Your Hand", when she is singing to the cheerleader. It was also established that she had a crush on Sadie. And, also, there are several video and audio hints during "Dear Prudence", such as Prudence locking herself in the closet and then coming out, and the lyric "Dear Prudence/Won't you come out to play?Another common opinion is that she was bisexual. When she first appears in the apartment, she mentions that she lived with a guy across the street. Also, when she's talking with Lucy in the club where Sadie sings "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?", Pru mentions that she had been sleeping with Maxwell.Later, Prudence joins the circus and takes up with the lovely contortionist, Rita.
Q
Where did the character's names come from?
A
The names of the main characters and some of the secondary characters are derived from names in the titles or lyrics of Beatles songs.Lucy - "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"Jude - "Hey Jude"Max - "Maxwell's Silver Hammer"Sadie - "Sexy Sadie"Jojo - "Get Back"Prudence - "Dear Prudence"Dr. Robert - "Doctor Robert"Mr. Kite - "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite"Dan (Lucy's first boyfriend) - "Rocky Raccoon"Molly (Jude's English girlfriend) - "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da"Martha (Jude's mother) - "Martha My Dear"Julia (Lucy's sister) - "Julia"Rita (The Contortionist) - "Lovely Rita"Teddy (Max's uncle) - "Teddy Boy"Bill (Sadie's Producer) - "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill"
