John Moffat is no stranger to the works of Agatha Christie. He had a minor role in Murder on The Orient Express. He also played Poirot on Radio 4.

One evening Miss Marple, Sir Henry, and Mrs. Bantry are dining. Mrs. Bantry gets up and says she will phone her husband. Meanwhile we already know that he was one of the people who led the police to the second body in the burned-out car (which presumably he would tell his wife over the phone), yet the next morning at breakfast, Mrs. Bantry mentions none of this and they all find out about it from the newspaper.
