Grandpa's real name is Lao Chi. In Chinese, Lao Chi means "teacher."

Eddie Guzelian, the producer of American Dragon: Jake Long, wrote in his blog, for the show, that the character of Jake's little sister was named after Hailie Jade Scott, Eminem, the famous rapper's, daughter. Eddie is a big Eminem fan and was actually listening to one of his albums while creating the character.

In several episodes, Rose's dragon birthmark disappears from her hand and wrist completely.
