Q
How does the movie end?
A
When nothing momentous happens at the prom, the boys decide to go to Steve Stifler's (Seann William Scott) post-prom party at his parents' mansion on Lake Michigan. Kevin and Vicki (Tara Reid) find an empty bedroom where they consummate their relationship, after which Vicki breaks up with him because the distance between their two colleges, Ann Arbor and Ithaca, will be too great to keep up a relationship. Oz and Heather (Mena Suvari) decide to be boyfriend-girlfriend and spend the evening necking on the terrace and snuggling on the boat deck. Bored with the party, Finch wanders into the poolroom where he finds Stifler's mom (Jennifer Coolidge) nursing a scotch. While the song 'Mrs Robinson' plays in the background, Finch seduces her on the pool table. The next morning, Stifler walks into the pool room, sees his mom and Finch together, and promptly faints. Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) orders Jim to have sex with her, confessing that she knew about his webcam experience with Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), the Czechoslovakian foreign exchange student. They find an empty bedroom that Michelle promptly tears apart with her wild love-making. The next morning, Jim awakens to find Michelle gone, replaced by a blow-up shark. Jim realizes that he's been used. 'Cool!' he exclaims. The next day, the boys meet at Dog Years to eat hotdogs, discuss their status, and toast to the next step-- going to college. In the final scene, Jim's dad (Eugene Levy) walks in on him dancing in front of the webcam while Nadia cheers him on. He quietly closes the door and goes dancing down the hallway, calling to his wife.
Q
Where does the title come from?
A
'Bye Bye Miss American Pie...' is a folk song written and recorded by American folk rock singer-songwriter Don McLean in 1971 and 'borrowed' for the title of this movie. There are also references in the movie to pie, particularly apple pie, as when Jim asks what it feels like to get to third base with a girl, and Oz replies, 'Like warm apple pie.' Later in the movie, Jim's mother bakes him an apple pie with which he finds out for himself what it feels like.
Q
What song plays at the end when Jim strips for Nadia on the webcam?
A
It's called "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies. It also plays at the start during Stifler's party. For the rest of the songs and their corresponding scenes try here.
