Writer-Director Stuart Urban, as well as playing the Argentinian Commando Radio Operator, also doubled as a waddling penguin in a day for night shot inter-cut with actual penguins on the beach.
The non-speaking roles of some of the Argentinian marines were played by the crew of a British round-the-world yacht which just happened to be in Port Stanley harbour at the time of filming. This was because the producers could not find an adequate number of resident Falkland Islanders willing to play Argentinian soldiers.
