Starting with season 7 (2001), it has been announced every year that the series would stop.

'Piet Kamerman', who played Lowietje for the last five seasons, flew in from Ireland (where he lived) to shoot his scenes each year.

Over the course of the series, Lowietje has been played by five different actors. 'Piet Kamerman', the last one, stayed over twice as long as all previous actors- a total of five seasons. He is the only actor to have played the role for more than two seasons.
