Bob West provided the voice for the character ever since the original Backyard Gang video series and reprised his role for the show from when it premiered in 1992 to 2000. Duncan Brannan took over from West providing the voice for Barney in many direct-to-video episodes until 2002 when Dean Wednt took over the character's voice until the show ended in 2009.
