According to the flags being raised, the four medalists at Worlds were from the United States, South Korea, and Sweden. South Korea has never medaled in men's singles at the World Championships, and Sweden has not medaled in that discipline since 1929. Furthermore, in the event of a first place tie, there would be no silver medal handed out, only the bronze, meaning that Sweden would have to suffice with a bronze and South Korea would have been left empty handed in fourth place.
In a website online, Johnny Weir comments on the fact that Jimmy and he have the same style. The peacock outfit was actually based on Weir's swan outfit from the 2006 Winter Olympics. Both of the costumes incorporated the skaters' arms as the necks and the hands as the beaks of the birds. 'Jon Heder (I)' apparently made an offhand suggestion and was surprised to find that the costume was being created for him.
As Chazz and Jimmy are performing the Iron Lotus in the final skating scene, a close-up of Jimmy's skate blade is shown and the blade is shown as having a sharp edge like a knife. Real-life figure skates have a narrow flat blade with 2 square edges that come off the ice at a 90-degree angle.
At the end, they fly out of the stadium by way of rocket skates, only minutes after Chazz broke his ankle. The pressure exacted by a rocket skate on a broken ankle would be excruciating, yet he seems to not feel a thing.
When Chazz Michael Michaels is kidnapped by Stranz Van Waldenberg, Stranz hits him over the head with a hammer on the right side of his head. For the remainder of the movie the mark left by the hammer is on the left side of Chazz's head.
