Trivia
Originally titled "Blood In Blood Out", which is the motto of La Onda, the prison gang in the film. Before the film's release in Spring of 1993, the title and all posters were changed because Disney which produced the film under their Hollywood Pictures banner, felt that it would promote or influence violence especially among the L.A. gangs where the film actually takes place around East Los Angeles. Another possible reason was because of the aftermath of the L.A. riots during this period of time which the studio felt the film's title was too negative. Bound by Honor was chosen and actually portrays the film's message a little more clearly.

The Mural of Miklo, Paco and Cruzito seen at the end of the movie when Cruzito and Paco are reminiscing, still stands to this day. Corrosion has damaged most of the facial expressions and colors but from a distance the base is still clear.

A whole subplot involving Paco's girlfriend/wife was cut.

In prison where Magic Mike and Miklo are talking, Miklo leans over to whisper something to Magic. If you look at Miklo's shoulders, you can see his singlet tan that he must have gotten while shooting the scenes in the beginning, but that part was at least 5 years before.

When Miklo shoots Spider, he falls down a hill, and lands dead on the road, in the first scene his arms are at his sides, in the second scene his arms are stretched above his head, then back at his side again.

Q
What are the differences between the Theatrical Version and the Director's Cut?
A
The US-DVD of this cult classic features a prolonged Director's Cut that runs nearly 10 minutes longer than the original Theatrical version. Several story sequences were extended that underline the movies' message. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
