Trivia
To extras waiting to join the "Terrible Neighborhood" and "Terrible Flat" scenes, a wardrobe specialist announced, "Please remove your personal jewelry including school rings and wedding bands; this is supposed to be a gritty neighborhood full of crackhouses and you're poor... you hocked all of your jewelry - for drugs."

While the derelict-but-surviving US neighborhood where the Manchester Scenes were filmed had plenty of its own street litter and urban debris, the Hollywood crew (in the effort to make the area look like an English slum) had left certain piles of prop rubbish in precise places. For scene continuity, such rubbish needed to remain present - even when scenes took multiple days to film. To protect against unwitting community litter cleanup, "essential" debris was flagged overnight and on weekends with "hot set" tape (a specialized version of other American yellow hazard tapes which say things like "caution caution caution", "wet paint", or "police line do not cross").

Goofs
When Hoffman and Ferris are at a Jordanian airport, the scenery in the background reveals the airport to be Dulles International Airport, which is near Washington DC, not Jordan. And later when Ferris is at the Dubai airport, the background is again Dulles.

Rabies injections are no longer administered via the abdominal wall but instead half the initial dose is injected into the region of the bite, with the remainder of the initial dose being injected intramuscularly away from the bite, typically the upper arm. Booster injections are given 3, 6, 14 and 28 days after exposure to the rabies virus, not just every week for a month. However, given that the hospital Ferris goes to is apparently not hugely modern, it is entirely possible that the staff there are not aware of the newer procedure and thus this may be a deliberate character error rather than a script mistake.

The area around Balad, Iraq is flat, not mountainous.

Roger Ferris: I'm gonna need some really really low-level Al Qaeda contacts, alright? No one too extreme. Picture someone in between Osama and Oprah.

Hani: Watch and learn, my dear. Watch and learn.

Q
Where were the explosion scenes shot?
A
Washington DC stood in for Amsterdam and Baltimore, and Maryland stood in for Manchester.
Q
Does Bassam actually die or is he just seriously wounded?
A
He dies. No doubt about it. In the car scene where Ferris and Bassam are making a getaway, the terrorists fire a RPG at their car. The American helicopters then kill the terrorists. As they pull Ferris from the wreckage, he frantically screams for Bassam. The Army medics tell Ferris that they can't even remove Bassam from the car as he "is in pieces." As he recouperates in Qatar, Ferris asks Hoffman what he plans to do for Bassam's family. Hoffman replies by saying "I didn't know the man".
Q
Is "Body of Lies" based on a book?
A
Yes. Body of Lies is a film adaptation of the 2007 novel by American writer and journalist David Ignatius.
