In one episode Catherine Piper (Betty White) delivers cookies to a staff briefing and says to Paul Lewiston (Rene Auberjonois) "My what an interesting face." This is likely a nod to Auberjonois' role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) as Constable Odo; a shapeshifter who was never completely able to copy a human face and thus always had a very unique flat-looking face.

Throughout the series, Alan Shore and Denny Crane sit on the balcony overlooking the city of Boston. However, during the cold winter months, you never see the breath of either character, thus demonstrating that the "balcony" is part of a set, and not an actual location.

What brand of scotch do Denny and Alan drink?

It would appear from the look of the bottle, they drink Chivas Regal. However, its more likely that the bottle is simply there as a prop.I disagree. Chivas is a blend. These guys are single malt types. Neat; no ice, no water or soda. I only saw the bottle briefly; it is possibly Dalmore.Indeed, the Brand on the show is Balmoor but looking at the bottle more closely you will notice that is a Dalmore 12 year bottle complete with the deer mounting logo above the label. Since I myself have wondered about this for years I made it a point to confirm the above.Saw in one episode they were drinking from a bottle of Dimple.
