Trivia
The English language title of both this film's source French film original A Pain in the Ass (1973) and its French remake A Pain in the Ass (2008) was "A Pain in the A..." ["A Pain in the Ass"] but the Hollywood MGM studio and the writers did not title Buddy Buddy (1981) this.

This movie was made and released about eight years after its source French film A Pain in the Ass (1973) debuted in 1973. Scriptwriter Francis Veber had adapted this French film from his 1971 play 'Le Contrat' ('The Contract'), Buddy Buddy (1981) being made and released about ten years after that. A French remake of the film was made in 2008 with the same title, A Pain in the Ass (2008).
