Q
How is this game show played?
A
The host, Ben Bailey, is a licenced taxi driver and drives around in a taxi van in New York City, New York, United States and picks people up and drives them to their destination. When the passenger(s) higher the taxi van, and get into the taxi van, they are then told that they are on a game show called "Ca$h Cab" and are asked if they want to play. If the passenger(s) want to play they stay in the taxi van and if the passenger(s) don't want to play, they leave the taxi van. After the passenger(s) say they want to play, the host explains the rules. The passanger(s) are told that they have to tell the host their destination and are told that the taxi van does not take detours unless told to do so by a police officer, stop sign, traffic light or some other legal means of diverting traffic and may not get out until they reach their destination. Once the passenger(s) tell the host their destination either by intersection or address, the host drives off to their destination. He then asks four trivia questions worth US $25 each. He then asks another four trivia questions worth US $50 each. He then asks the remaining questions (depending on distance to destination) worth US $100 each. At any time three questions are answered wrong, the passenger(s) are kicked out of the taxi van after pulling over to the side of the road, next to the sidewalk and walk away with US $0. If the taxi van has to stop at a red light and is the first one in line and has racked up more than US $200, then the host will start a red light challenge worth US $250. The red light challenge question has either four or five answers. The host will ask the question and the passenger(s) will have thirty seconds to give all the answers to the question. If the passenger(s) answer the question right, they win an extra US $250. If the passenger(s) answer the question wrong, they don't win the extra US $250, but it doesn't count against them towards a question wrong. The passenger(s) are allowed two "Shout-Outs" during the game to help them on a question that they either don't know or are not sure about and don't want to guess and each one can only be used once. One of them is called "Mobile Shout Out" where the host gives them his cell phone and they can call anyone they want for the answer, but they only have thirty seconds to do so and then must answer the question. The second is called "Street Shout-Out" where the host pulls over to the side of the road and the constant(s) can ask only one person walking down the sidewalk the question and then must answer the question. The second one doesn't have any offical time limit. If the passenger(s) manage to make it to their destination, the host then holds the amount of money won up to that point and askes them if they want to go for it all double or nothing on a video question, where a video is shown with a question attached to it. If the passenger(s) say no, they get to keep the money and then they have to get out of the taxi van. If the passenger(s) say yes, then after watching the video, have to answer the question. If the passenger(s) answer the question correctly they double their money and have to leave the taxi van, but if the passenger(s) answer the question wrong, they have to leave the taxi van with US $0. At no time are they asked to pay the taxi fare. After the passenger(s) leave the taxi van, new passenger(s) are brought into the taxi van and the game starts all over again.
