Gwyneth Paltrow stated in an interview for Chelsea Lately (2007) that she considered challenging to portray the character of Kelly Canter and to prepare for the role she emailed Robert Downey Jr. (who's been sober for a very long time) seeking for help for her to understand the process of addiction and rehabilitation, and he wrote her back with "the most amazing email" which really helped her.

A billboard referencing Nashville exit 209A is very prominent in the background and they show the Nashville skyline while supposedly in Dallas. They also had real Nashville TV station logos on their microphones.

Q
Who made the white guitar strap in the trailer of the movie? Was it made just for the movie?
A
Alchemy Design made several straps for Country Strong, including the white one with the red and blue flowers on it, that was seen in the trailer. Alchemy Design was located in Nashville, TN during the filming of this movie but has relocated to Wilmington, NC as a result of the floods in Nashville in May 2010. As most of the straps that Alchemy Design makes, the white strap was a custom order just for Country Strong!
