Trivia
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are playing themselves, seen on the Universal studio lot. They call each other "Holmes" and "Watson" as a joke because they were currently playing these characters in Universal movies.

Billy Gilbert is listed in the closing credits as playing 'Stone,' but he clearly introduces himself as 'Sid Drake.'

As a gag veteran performers Andy Devine, Leo Carillo, Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Johnny Mack Brown and Allan Jones, all of whom make cameos, are given a special "Introducing" title card.

Q
Chicago Opening Happened When?
A
Crazy House (Universal)Opened in Chicago at the RKO Palace on Friday, December 3, 1943; this film starred the comedy duo Olsen and Johnson ("Those Comedy Sensation of 'Hellzapoppin 'and 'Son's OFun' . . . in the Screen's Mad, Musical, Laugh-Quake!"), with 28 stars and 17 acts! Though not a Holmes film in the traditional sense, both Rathbone and Bruce, as Holmes and Watson, make a most brief appearance in the work.]
