When Harvey Bernhard had finished writing the script and was given the green light to start the production, the first person he contacted was Jerry Goldsmith because of the composer's busy schedule. Bernhard also felt that Goldsmith's music for The Omen (1976) was the highest point of that movie, and that without Goldsmith's music this sequel would never be successful.
William Holden was the original choice to star in the first film, The Omen (1976), but turned it down as he did not want to star in a picture about the devil. Gregory Peck was selected as his replacement. "The Omen" went on to become a huge hit and Holden made sure he did not turn down the part in this sequel.
Some viewers have claimed that the faces of Damien on Yigael's Wall differ when shown throughout the film. However, Bugenhagen states that the Wall shows four faces of the Antichrist during his rise to power. We only see two of these clearly in the film (Damien aged 5 and 13), with a very brief glimpse of what may be a third face.
The close-up of the crow's eye in Aunt Marion's room is the same shot as the close-up of the crow on the roadway. You can see the reflection of the trees along the roadway in the crows eye even though it is inside Marion's bedroom at night.

[Damien has just seen the Mark of the Beast on his scalp, indicating he is the Antichrist. He runs out of the Academy building]
Damien Thorn: [shouting]
Why? Why me?
Damien: Omen II is a sequel to The Omen (1976), which was based on an original screenplay by American screenwriter David Seltzer. The screenplay for Damien: Omen II was written by producer Harvey Bernhard and TV screenwriter Stanley Mann. However, the movie was novelized by Joseph Howard and Harvey Bernhard. Damien: Omen II was followed by two more sequels, The Final Conflict (1981) and Omen IV: The Awakening (1991).
Q
Where did Damien go after the Thorns were killed?
A
The movie doesn't say. Most likely, he stayed at the Military Academy during school time, where Sgt Neff could protect him and teach him. Another possibility is that Paul Buher took him under his wing.
