Shane Kippel (Gavin "Spinner" Mason), Cassie Steele (Manny Santos), Miriam McDonald (Emma Nelson), Mike Lobel (Jay Hogart), Paula Brancati (Jane Vaughn), Dalmar Abuzeid (Danny Van Zandt), Scott Paterson (Johnny DiMarco), and Natty Zavitz (Bruce) will not be returning after season 9.Their storylines will be wrapped up in Degrassi Takes Manhattan, a mini-movie airing in between seasons 9 and 10. See below:Spinner and Emma get married, resulting in Spinner quitting his job at The Dot and them starting a new life together off camera. Manny goes back to Hollywood to continue her acting career and Jay decides to go with her. Danny, Johnny, and Bruce graduate Degrassi and move on with their lives. Jane also graduates high school and possibly stays in New York to pursue a singing career while in college.In addition, Melissa DiMarco (Principal Daphne Hatzilakos) will not be returning for the 10th season, even though she resumed her role during the 9th season. Snake takes over as principal of Degrassi, so she is written out.
