The shoot required 2 maroon 1934 Ford sedans to facilitate the photography of the TV project. One borrowed from a local car collector for regular driving scenes. The other reconstructed from a parts car by the Transportation Department and local hot rod shops. This Ford sedan would do the dangerous stunt driving, and accommodate the damage caused explosive squibs used to create bullet holes during takes by the SFX department. The borrowed 1934 Ford Dillinger car was kept in mint condition. Also used in the making of this TV movie was a black 1934 Ford borrowed from a local car collector, used as an FBI vehicle in the scene where agents machine gunned down Eddie Green. This black car was again used in the filming of another Dillinger saga called "Public Enemies" almost 20yrs later in some of the same areas of Wisconsin.

The large Bank they rob was actually the lobby of the Milwaukee Public Library.

Goofs
During the chase scene, following the bank robbery in Chicago, the camera pulls back to show the entire chase from a roof top in Milwaukee. In the distance, at the top of the screen, you can see the Phister Hotel Tower, which is a tall, round art-deco type style building. It was opened for business in the early 1970's.
