Took less than four hours to shoot with no crew.

Although the dogs were untrained, they were well behaved enough to hold still for inserts and reaction shots.

The project was first conceived as an acting exercise between Alan Arkin and Tonya Cornelisse. Tonya enjoyed the original improvisation so much she later re-worked it, creating new characters with friend Graham Sibley.
