The movie makes multiple references to traditional Minnesota food: The Mount Rose High cafeteria serves lutefisk for lunch, Jell-O salad is served at Tammy's funeral, and several scenes include people eating and offering "bars," considered an essential dessert for Minnesota potlucks.
On the opening credits of the Region 1 DVD, the words read "...a documentary film crew film was sent to Mountrose Minnesota...." - it should obviously read "a documentary film crew was sent..."
Before performing the physical fitness routine, the girls say their step ladders are still wet with paint, but when the Vaseline is brought around to them, their hands are clean. Later, when they are on the stage, their hands are covered in paint.
When Becky visits Mary at the hospital, Amber is combing her hair and a chunk falls out. Amber places the chunk back on Mary's crown. When Becky enters, Mary is suddenly wearing a tiara and the chunk of hair is hanging in front of her nightgown. There wouldn't have been time for Amber to have picked up the tiara from the dresser and fixed her hair.
