The bookstore that Gabriel owns is located in the famous Bourbon St of the French Quarter, New Orleans.

The character Gabriel Knight ranked #2 in Computer Gaming World's November 1996 listing of the 15 most memorable game heroes.

At one point, Gabriel attends a college lecture which he also records with his tape recorder. At the end he gets drowsy and falls asleep. As he does so the lecturers statement become garbled indicating Gabriel's loss of focus. When the tape is played back, one would expect the end of the lecture to not be garbled, since the tape recorder itself doesn't fall asleep, but the end of the recording repeats the same garbled ending.
