Goofs
Tracy's headboard bookshelf clearly shows three Disney's 'Annette' books. One of the books, "The Mystery at Smugglers Cove", was not published until 1963. The books are visible during the "Good Morning Baltimore" and "Without Love" numbers.

During Tracy's first show on "The Corny Collins Show", Amber is wearing a white layered dress. But a shot during the same scene, where everyone is facing the back of the set, shows Amber wearing the pink and white striped dress that she wears in the beginning of the movie. After that shot, she is back in the white layered dress.

During the opening "Good Morning Baltimore" song segment, a school bus labeled "Patterson School District" passes behind Tracy on the streets of Baltimore. Although she attends Patterson Park High School, it's still the Baltimore School District.

Q
Did everybody do their own singing?
A
Yes, with the exception of two of the Dynamites.
Q
What's the deal with Miss Baltimore Crabs? What does it mean?
A
Miss Baltimore Crabs is a play on the Miss Georgia Peach pageant. Georgia is famous for its peaches, just as New York is for its Apples and Florida with its Oranges. Baltimore is therefore famous for its Crabs. However, there are two meanings to this song. The other implication is that Miss Baltimore Crabs (Velma Von Tussle) risked getting crabs (pubic lice) while in bed with the judges for the win.
Q
What is the Corny Collins show based on?
A
Teen dance TV shows were popular in the 1950s and 1960s, and many faced similar disputes and controversy over the appearance of black teens, interracial dancing, racism and segregation. The Corny Collins Show is based on The Buddy Deane Show, which was all-white except on alternate Fridays, which were "Negro day." The core dancers, who appeared every day (except on all-black days) were called the "Committee." It was cancelled in 1964 after the home station WJZ was unable to integrate black and white dancers.
