The box cover of a 1992 VHS edition (issued by Front Row Entertainment) has a still of Charlton Heston posing proudly in Roman uniform in front of a ruined temple, and the curious caption "Charlton Heston stars as Julius Caesar--General, Statesman and Historian of Ancient Rome." In fact, Heston does not play Gaio Giulio Cesare, but Marc Antony. Apparently the caption writer had not seen the film, and simply assumed that the most prominent actor played the title character.

Max Adrian was cast in a featured role but dropped out before filming. Some books incorrectly list him as being in this project.
