Trivia
After principal photography had finished, Penny Marshall wanted to shoot a couple of pick-up shots in New York and asked Gian-Carlo Coppola (her daughter Tracy Reiner's ex) to be the cameraman. Unfortunately, Gio died in a boating accident before the filming date. The New York re-shoots were canceled, but Gio got a 'special thanks' during the end credits.

Jon Lovitz auditioned for the movie when Howard Zieff was the director, and didn't get cast. When Penny Marshall took over from Zieff, she offered Lovitz a role, having seen his work on the set of SNL due to her friendship with Lorne Michaels.

The phone booth sequence was part of a re-shoot in L.A. James Belushi, who's character was originally only to appear in two scenes and die in a car accident in second of those, was brought back and covered in bandages to explain how he escaped death.

Goofs
Lady Sara tells Terry that MI5 helped her get the exit contact for Jack. MI5 is concerned with Internal Security in Britain. Since Jack was out of the country, MI6 (external security) would be the agency establishing an exit contact.

When Terry is scaling the roof at the British Consulate to get into the computer room, her belt is ripped off her gown. The belt and the tape recorder that was tucked into it, fall onto the sidewalk below. When Terry looks down, both her belt and the tape recorder are gone.

During the entire movie, Terri is constantly only hitting six keys over and over again when she types. Many times the number of keys she presses between pauses and lapses do not correspond with the sound or what appears on the screen.
