The film was launched in 1997 as " Zulm " starring Rekha and Sunny Deol. After much delay Rekha left the film and Tabu Naaz was signed. The film's title was then changed to " Sazaa - The Punishment". The film went for further in delay's. In 2004 the film's title was changed to " The Challenge" to make it feel more fresh. The film then had more delays. Finally, K.C.Bokadia changed the film's title to " Khuda Kasam".
