Trivia
Director F. Gary Gray decided to use Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse as the restaurant that caters Clyde's lunch after dining there several times during filming. The restaurant was also the location of the film's after-party following its screening at the Philadelphia Film Festival.

'Gerald Butler' interviewed that a scene where a character is murdered by being repeatedly stabbed with a steak bone was so gory that the MPAA gave the film's initial cut an NC-17 rating solely on that basis. When an edited version with much less blood (though still graphically violent) was submitted, the film was immediately granted an R rating.

The coordinates that Clyde reveals as the location of Bill Reynolds (North 39° 57' 4" West 75° 10' 22") actually are for the hotel in Philadelphia where the filmmakers stayed.

Goofs
Clyde states that Darby will only do five years for third degree murder, he's technically accurate: that is the minimum sentence for a defendant with absolutely no criminal history. However, Darby already has at least one previous felony, as revealed during the phone call to Darby helping him escape. Under Pennsylvania law, a single felony in the defendant's criminal history would raise that to a 7 1/2 year minimum. Assuming that the judge gave them the 7.5 - 15 year minimum, that would only make them eligible for parole after 7.5 years, no guarantee that they'd be released. Additionally, the judge has the authority to exceed those, and is not bound by any plea agreement.

Detective Dunnigan explains to Nick that the armed robot used API rounds (armor piercing incendiary) ammunition and explains they're anti-tank rounds. Despite being a somewhat accurate description, .50 caliber API ammunition would be unable to pierce modern day tank armor.

Quotes
Nick Rice: Like I said Clyde, it's a decision you'll have to live with for the rest of your life. Which I figure right now is about 25 more seconds.

Clyde Shelton: I'm just getting started. I'm gonna pull the whole thing down. I gonna bring the whole fuckin' diseased corrupt temple down on your heads. It's gonna be Biblical.

Detective Dunnigan: [to Nick Rice, after finding Darby's dismembered body] Good news counselor, we found Darby... I gotta say though, he's looked better.
