Director Drake Doremus viewed a rough cut of this film to his former students at the Orange County High School of the Arts before submitting it to the Sundance Film Festival.

When Jacob receives a text message from Anna while lying next to sleeping Samantha and Anna lying next to sleeping Simon after sex saying, "Hi". Even though when the camera shoots over to Jacob it shows that Anna actually text-ed Jacob saying "Hey J", and Jacob was the one who text-ed saying "Hi".
A few scenes are set in an apartment in the UK. However, an American light switch is seen, and an iPhone using the AT&T network, revealing that the scene was actually shot in the US.
When Anna sticks her presentation paper under the windshield wiper of Jacob's car for the second time and walks away, it is stuck with a tiny corner towards the middle of the wiper. In the next close-up shot the paper is stuck with a much bigger corner under its tip.
Anna: [on the phone with Jacob]
I just have to say one thing and it's really important that you just listen to me. I just... It doesn't feel like this, this thing is gonna go away, it's always there. I can't... I can't get on with my life.
Anna: It's someone that is very close to me and he's been quite an inspiration in my life. And i almost through my writing i wanted to give something back.
