During post-production, Richard Kraft, then the Head of Music for Cannon Films and now Hollywood Music Agent, was fired because he had uncovered a discrepancy in the music cue sheets which had literally taken off the names and performers of the music which included the film's composer Basil Poledouris and substituted them with bogus names (non-exsistant composers) for each title track, published under a bogus copyright music company and were declared "Public Domain" because the company did not want to pay the re-use fees, which at the time were a requirement for all films and television to be included in the film and used for future rebroadcasts on Cable TV and network television and also because someone within Cannon Films was taking credit for Poledouris' compositions and deliberately keeping the money for themselves.
Movie posters for this film featured a blurb that read: "Palmer Woodrow III earned his diploma the old-fashioned way. He hired Eddie Keaton to graduate for him. Making the Grade. If you can't make . . . fake it!".
The girl school mixer band's rendition of My Sharona in no way corresponds to the band's physical movements. There is not even anyone singing when the vocals are being heard.
