Max keeps most of the stuff from his old house in a shipping container at a place called Gognitti's Self-Storage. The place is named after mafia lieutenant Vinnie Gognitti, one of the video game's minor villains.

The NYPD precinct where Max works is the "55th", also the name given to the fictional NYPD precinct and fire station used in TV series Third Watch (1999).

Goofs
In the end scene where Max stands in front of the two lamps on top of the Aesir building, he drops his pistol and kneels down; the gun falls in the yellow area with the grip towards the viewer. In the next scene you see the pistol laying more behind him in the black area and with the grip towards the building.

(at around 46 mins) Max is driving through the city (supposedly New York City) when behind him through the windows of the car, you can see a "Tim Horton's" neon sign. There are no Tim Horton's in NYC (the nearest is in Syracuse, according to the company website), but they're all over the place in Toronto (where the film was shot.)

When Mona Sax arrives at Aesir Pharmaceuticals, she shoots through a door, near the lock handle, to open it. When she kicks the door open, the door handle, lock, and deadbolt are undamaged, and the deadbolt is not locked.

Q
Is there an extra scene at the end of the credits?
A
Yes. At the very end of the credits there is a scene between Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, which sets the stage for a possible sequel: Mona shows Max a newspaper that reports Nicole Horn to be the new CEO of Aesyr Corp. The company, against expectations, apparently thrives.
Q
Is "bullet time" in the film?
A
Yes, although there isn't much of it.
Q
How much sex, violence, and profanity are in this movie?
A
For detailed information about the amounts and types of (a) sex and nudity, (b) violence and gore, (c) profanity, (d) alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and (e) frightening and intense scenes in this movie, consult the IMDb Parents Guide for this movie. The Parents Guide for Max Payne can be found here.
