According to screenwriter Christopher Wicking, this film was made because George Hamilton was willing to do it. Which was to his advantage because he was about to marry Alana Stewart and thought that it would be nice to have a honeymoon in the sun with all expenses paid by the film company and an acting salary to go with it.
