If listened to in full, the squeaking noise in Pete's car plays to the tune of "The Yankee Doodle Boy" (also known as "Yankee Doodle" or "Yankee Doodle Dandy").
This is the last short to feature Peg Leg Pete's signature peg leg. The next cartoon featuring him (which is Moving Day (1936)) would show him having two good legs. This was because the animation of the peg leg was problematic; it was hard to tell which leg it was on.
